Council Cabinet recommended to change some charges for social care

Following consultation between September and the new year, the Council’s Cabinet is being recommended at its meeting on 15 February to make some changes to its “Fairer Charging” policy, fees and charges.

You can see the details (item 17 on the agenda) here.  And the consultation responses here.  The Cabinet meeting is held in public at the civic offices and starts after the 6pm public forum at about 6.15pm.

1365 users of adult social care have had “Fairer Charging” financial assessments and currently receive care services.  An estimated 250 people have had a financial assessment but are not currently getting a service.  An estimated 1600 people each year will be affected by these proposals.

If you will be affected and have some comments, Swindon LINk would be pleased to hear from you here.
