Swindon LINk is holding an open meeting to discuss the NHS and complementary and alternative therapies.
NHS Swindon has recently reviewed its policy statement on paying for complementary and alternative therapies (CAT). It says "NHS Swindon will only fund interventions that are supported by evidence that demonstrates clinical and cost effectiveness. At this time there is insufficient high quality evidence to demonstrate the clinical and cost effectiveness of complementary and alternative medicines. Complementary and alternative medicines are therefore not normally funded".
The open meeting is an opportunity to hear why and to debate the issues involved.
