What's it about?
Organised by the Swindon Carers Centre, the theme for the day is "knowing your rights" and finding hidden carers who don’t realise they have rights; supporting carers to claim what they are entitled to and informing carers and carer groups about what new protections in the Equality Act will mean for them.
‘Market place’ themes will be running where Carers can talk individually with staff about benefits advice and obtain advice and information from a team of Carer Support Workers. Also there will be a workshop run by Swindon Local Involvement Network (LINk) on how carers can influence local health and social care services. For more information about the event please contact Suzanna Jones on 01793 531133 or email suzanna.jones@prtc-swindon.org
The Carers Centre has also published their Caring Matters Winter Newsletter 2010 supporting family carers of all ages, where you will find out what developments they have been working on for the last few months and much more.
