LINks are changing to Healthwatch. These new local organisations will build upon the existing powers and work that LINks already do and have a wider remit to include;
- Complaints advocacy service
- Supporting individuals to exercise choice
- Supporting people who lack the means or capacity to make choices
Local Health watch will be able to report concerns about the quality of local health and social care service to Healthwatch England who in turn can recommend that the Care Quality Commission takes action.The consultation events aim to help you and the people you may represent understand more about the Healthwatch proposals and the issue that you might want to think about when responding to the proposals through the consultation process. Your response to the White paper will help to shape how Healthwatch operates and functions. The event will:
- Set out the Healthwatch proposals
- Explains more about the consultation process
- Identify the key issues and questions you might want to think about when you respond to the White Paper
- Explore how Healthwatch will function locally and its relationships to other organisations and
- Answer some common questions
