Swindon LINk Using social care services http://www.swindonlink.org Swindon LINk What we're working on Reason Digital Feed maker on CMS Made Simple matt@reasondigital.com ( ) Living independently http://swindonlink.org/working-issue/?issue=Living independently Most of us would like to continue living independently as long as possible. Social services and the health service support people to do this if necessary. Do you think services allow people to continue to live independently? What could be improved to help more people do this? At the moment many changes are taking place, such as a shift from council provision to private for some receiving care. Swindon LINk want to be sure that quality and dignity standards are adhered to in this period of change. Please tell us what your experiences are. Or if you live in Shrivenham which isn’t in the borough but IS serviced by NHS Swindon…what do you think? Wed, 25 Aug 2010 17:55:37 +0100 http://swindonlink.org/working-issue/?issue=Accessing services in outlying regions Caring http://swindonlink.org/working-issue/?issue=Caring There is estimated to be 15000 carers in Swindon, either formally recognised or not. And whilst the status and hard work of carers are gradually being recognised institutionally, there is still a long way to go. Much local support for carers comes from services like Swindon Carers Centre. If you are a carer what would make a difference to your life? How would you change current services to better suit your needs?
